Presenting Research on Thermal Performance at the World Building Conference in Tampere, Finland
The aim of this research is to determine the influence of decisions concerning architectural design and building construction on the thermal performance of a house under certain climatic conditions. The focus is on the GUtech EcoHaus, an already built low-energy residential building in Muscat, Oman. In this study the performance of the EcoHaus is digitally modelled and benchmarked against a series of buildings of similar size and function, but of different shape, material, and orientation in order to study the impact of these variable factors on the cooling loads.
